REMINDER: Twitch And THE AWAKENING Want To Give You A Free iPad

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
Cohen Media bring UK chiller The Awakening to US screens on August 17th and they have partnered with us here at Twitch to offer up the best prize package we've ever given away.

Rebecca Hall, Dominic West and Imelda Staunton star in this period set ghost story playing out just after World War One.

In 1921, England is overwhelmed by the loss and grief of World War I. Hoax exposer Florence Cathcart visits a boarding school to explain sightings of a child ghost. Everything she believes unravels as the 'missing' begin to show themselves.

Here's how this is going to work. You see that image to the left? That's the official poster. It's a perfectly fine bit of work but Cohen Media think you might be able to do better. And so they have partnered with us here at Twitch for a poster design contest, with the winner set to receive a brand new iPad 3.

This is going to play out in two phases.

Phase One: Click this link to download images and other raw materials to create your poster. When you have created it email it to us at this email address, and be sure to include your mailing address. Submissions will be accepted up until Sunday, August 12.

Phase Two: From those submissions the editors of Twitch will select our three favorites to be the finalists. Those three finalists will then be posted to our official Facebook page for the general public to vote on. Whichever gets the most likes on Facebook will be judged the winner and its creator will win the iPad. Submissions will be posted on Monday, August 13th with the winner judged as of midnight EST on Wednesday, August 15th.

Check the official trailer for the film below!

Contest open only to residents of the USA.

What are the technical specs? Filetype? Finished Size? DPI?

    One entry per person?

Do we have to use one of the asset photos?

    Thanks!

  • Swarez

The US specs for a regular one sheet is 27x40 inches.

The one that you send us should only be 72dpi and should be about 750 pixels wide.

  • We're not picky on tech specs, just get it in at a decent enough resolution to show off your work and keep it in standard US poster format. When they go on Facebook it'll be in JPG format, so you may as well send that way, too. You don't need to use the supplied assets if you don't want to, but they're there as a resource. Hadn't even considered multiple entries per person until you asked, honestly, but I since I didn't say no from the outset, I'd say fire away. I will, however, say that no more than one per person will make it into the final three.
