One Last Trailer For THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Shoots and Scores

Not that we really needed one, but Warner Bros has released one more full length trailer for its big Summer blockbuster The Dark Knight Rises, set to take the world by storm this time next month. I had pretty much got to the point where I didn't need to see any more montages of Christopher Nolan's new Caped Crusader epic - in fact, this barrage of footage and marketing is beginning to sour the whole idea for me. But the good news is that the element of the film that really gets a fresh airing in the new trailer is Hans Zimmer's score - and it sounds awesome.

You've pretty much seen all this footage before - Bane (Tom Hardy) blows shit up and beats people up, Catwoman (Anne Hathaway) steals pretty much any vehicle she comes into contact with, while Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) needs mothering from Alfred (Michael Caine) and Joseph Gordon Levitt's cop looks on hungrily. The overall theme of the trailer, however, seems much more upbeat than those that came before it. The film feels less about mourning the loss of Batman and more about fighting bad guys and saving the city's bridges and football stadiums. Is this new, lighter, more gung-ho tone true to the rest of the film, or simply cut to pull more of the mainstream movie-going crowd in to see the Dark Knight's swan song? We really don't have very much longer to wait to find out!

the scene where batman and bane jump, throws a punch visibly with no contact made, really irks me.

Personally I think that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character (John Blake) will be Batman v2 after Bane kicks Christian Bale's ass. Anyone else getting a sense of this or am I crazy? It just feels like he is to much part of the movie to simply be some cop.

Something feels off about these trailers.

And it appears that Nolan still doesn't quite have a good handle on how to lens action.
