A Barbarella television series? Produced and at least partially directed by Drive and Pusher helmer Nicolas Winding Refn? Oh, yes please.
The Hollywood Reporter bring word that Refn is teaming up with the international television arm of French production company Gaumont - who are also backing Refn's current feature, Only God Forgives - to bring the classic cult scifi figure to television. Refn will direct - though there are no specifics as to how many episodes - and produce alongside Martha De Laurentiis and co-executive producers Julien Forest and Jean-Marc Lofficier.
GIT - the Gaumont TV production arm - are also backing upcoming series Hannibal and Eli Roth's Hemlock Grove.
