New PROMETHEUS Image Teases ALIEN Connection

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
How connected will Ridley Scott's Prometheus be to his 1979 classic Alien? That's been the question since Day One, when the film was initially announced as a prequel to the 1979 effort before all involved stepped back and claimed that it had evolved from that position and become something different. Well, Scott et al have since stepped back from that, too, and now acknowledge that there are indeed direct links and one of them is abundantly clear in the latest still released from Prometheus.

See those figures in the left side of the image? Look like Space Jockeys to me. For those unfamiliar, the Space Jockeys are the race who piloted the crashed ship in the original Alien - the ship loaded with xenomorph eggs discovered by the human crew of the original film.

Now, the temptation is to assume the strongest possible connection here and go straight back to believing that Prometheus is a direct prequel to Scott's classic but there may be nothing more ot this than the two films simply existing in the same universe. We'll have to wait until June to find out.
