Johnny Knoxville And Patton Oswalt Cast In THE CATECHISM CATACLYSM Director's SCOUT MASTER
Hey, IFC! When are you going to release a trailer for Todd Rohal's The Catechism Cataclysm? Rohal's oddball comedy was a low-key hit at this year's Sundance Festival and there have been rumblings of what may be coming next for the talented indie director.And those rumblings just became fact.
Johnny Knoxville and Patton Oswalt have been cast as dueling brothers who take a group of boys on a camping trip at the request of their sick father. Yes, the guy from Jackass will be a role model to impressionable youth.
Originally titled Scout Master - though it's not certain if that title will stick - the film was written by and will be directed by Rohal with production starting later this week. As was the case with The Catechism Cataclysm, David Gordon Green is on board as an exec producer.
Frankly its surprising to me that Knoxville has never really caught on as a star outside of reality based projects. The man has a natural charm to him that makes him always fun to watch and I think he could strike some remarkable chemistry with Oswalt, who is a very under-rated performer himself.
