Kevin Costner Joining Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED
Oh, yes please.
Quentin Tarantino has a long history of reviving the careers of sputtering former screen icons and it would appear that Kevin Costner will be the next to get such treatment.
According to Deadline Costner is currently in talks to take the role of Ace Woody, a key villain in the piece. Woody is an employee of Calvin Candie - to be played by Leonardo DiCaprio - whose job is to train slaves to fight one another for their white owners' amusement.
Once one of the biggest stars in the world it has been well over a decade since Costner made a film anybody particularly gave a damn about and this strikes me as a brilliant move. Because while Costner has played dark characters only rarely in his career those parts - think The War or, more recently, Mr Brooks - have been stand out performances and my gut reaction is that he will fit perfectly into this world that Tarantino is creating. I, for one, can't wait to see what Tarantino gets out of him.
