First Official Shot Of Karl Urban As JUDGE DREDD
I will say this for Pete Travis' upcoming reboot of Judge Dredd: It cannot possibly be worse than the first attempt at putting the character on the big screen. In fact with Alex Garland (28 Days Later, Never Let Me Go) writing and Rob Schneider kept safely outside a 100 mile radius of the shooting location this could be significantly better. It might even be good. But I do wish that helmet looked a little bit less like a 1970's version of what might be worn in a 2010 To The Death Gladiator Hockey tournament. That sucker must hover a good four or five inches above the top of his head. You could house a family of squirrels in there.
For those unfamiliar:
'Dredd' takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot - if necessary.
Karl Urban takes the lead in the new film version - whose title has been shortened down to Dredd - with Lena Headley, Olivia Thrilby and Domhnall Gleeson co-starring.
