THE HOBBIT Films Get Full Titles And Release Dates
Oh, good, Hobbit news that doesn't involve fires, hospitalizations, labor disruptions or any other sundry unpleasantness.
Peter Jackson's two part adaptation of The Hobbit has now been granted individual titles and release date. Part one releases December 14th, 2012 under the title The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey while part two arrives December 13th, 2013 as The Hobbit: There And Back Again.
Beyond the titles, which should - like he needs the credibility - remind people once again that Jackson knows his source material, what I really want to know is what he's doing to the material structurally and, once and for all, if he's including the referenced-but-never-actually-written battle between the wizards and the Necromancer in Mirkwood. The presence of Legolas suggests he is, as does the announced casting of Sylvester McCoy as Radagast, but nobody has actually come out and said so yet.
