Shane Black In The Mix To Write And Direct IRON MAN 3
Well, now. This makes an awful lot of sense.
Lethal Weapon writer Shane Black has met with Marvel Studios to pitch them his take for the upcoming Iron Man 3. He is apparently not the only one in the mix - with Jon Favreau stepping away from the franchise I expect this is one of the more sought-after gigs going - but Black fits right into the tier of known but not huge name directors that Marvel seems to favor and he's got history with star Robert Downey Jr, having written for and directed Downey in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.
Black has never dealt with effects on this scale before but his writing style certainly suits the tone of the previous films and he's got the action end of things down cold. I'd like to see this happen.
