TRUE GRIT To Open Berlin

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
To say that the early buzz around the Coen Brothers remake of True Grit is positive is a bit of an understatement. The reality is that people - lots of them - are saying that this is one of the best films of the Brothers' entire career and expectations are mounting for a resounding commercial and critical success. And the film just got another serious endorsement with word that it has been selected as the opening night film of the 2011 Berlin Film Festival. And for Berlin to select a film that will already be in wide release in the US as the opening picture ... well, they must really, really like it because that's unusual behavior for them.

Expect more Berlin announcements to roll out in the coming weeks.
