Jack Skellington Returning To The Big Screen? Nope.
[Burton producer Derek Frey says nope to this one.]
Though this one should be filed squarely in the 'rumor' pile for now it's a pretty compelling rumor which actually makes a fair bit of sense.
According to Dread Central, one of their sources had the chance to sit down and talk with Paul Reubens about his upcoming Pee Wee Herman live show. And when their guy asked Reubens whether he'd like to work with director Tim Burton again the answer essentially boiled down to yes, but he's busy with an awful lot of projects right now. Including a sequel to The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Honestly it's surprising that there hasn't been a Nightmare sequel before now. It's a character that Burton clearly loves and I'm sure his merch-driven backers at Disney would love the chance to build the audience for a cult film that has already somehow become one of their biggest merchandising cash cows.
