Alright Toronto! You've read about it on blogs and in message-boards; you've heard about the sold out screenings at film festivals that have left audiences gasping for breath; you have probably even Youtubed the trailer and asked yourself "Why movie? Why is a disembodied head biting that young girl's bum?"... You have no excuses... Nobuhiko Obayashi's sublimely insane "what-am-I-watching-ooh-look-at-the-colours-AHHH-did-that-just-happen" cult-classic HOUSE will be screening at the Bloor Cinema for a week, starting tomorrow night (July 23rd) at 7pm!

Do not wait for Criterion's October release of the film on DVD and Blu-Ray, see it first with the crowd, on the big screen, on 35mm.

And if you're still not convinced, HOUSE is also going to be double billed tomorrow night with Tobe Hooper's LIFEFORCE at 9:30pm (also on 35mm). This is primo entertainment that only rep cinemas can deliver. Do not forgo this gift from the great projectionist in the sky.

There are still lots of HOUSE screenings coming up, all the way into November at at least: http://www.janusfilms.com/house/dates.html has all the city opening dates and locations.

Sounds like another round of Fangoria editor-in-chief' Chris Alexander's wonderful FILM SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL to me!

I hear there's a sister event getting ready to fire up in the Seattle area too...mmm hmmm yes I do.
