LIFF '09: Discount tickets for FANOMENON FILMMAKERS' DAY 13/11/09!
Short notice unless you're in the area, more than likely, but on the offchance - the good people at the 23rd Leeds International Film Festival (still ongoing until the 22nd November) would like to let you know about their upcoming Fanomenon Filmmakers' Day this very Friday at the Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds.
Fanomenon is the section of the festival that brings together one of the greatest selections of the best of genre film to be found anywhere on the planet, and this year the organisers are aiming to wow the crowds on another level entirely. In their own words:
WANT TO MAKE YOUR OWN FILM? DON'T MISS YOUR CHANCE TO FIND OUT HOW FROM THE GUYS WHO HAVE DONE IT THEMSELVES AT LEEDS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL'S FANOMENON FILMMAKERS' DAY, THIS FRIDAY, HYDE PARK PICTURE HOUSE 1-5.30PM. HALF PRICE TICKETS!
Fanomenon has been delivering the best in horror, sci-fi, fantasy and action films to you for over a decade and this year we have taken our passion for genre film one step further with this amazing one-off Fanomenon Filmmakers' Day.
Like all our special events we don't do things by halves. Joining us for this event we have Robin Cowie, producer of The Blair Witch Project and Seventh Moon, Kerry Prior, director of Revenant, Brad Watson, director of Beacon 77 and American independent filmmaking star and musician Cory McAbee, director of cult sci-fi film Stingray Sam.
The Fanomenon Filmmakers' Day is a great opportunity for budding filmmakers of all levels to gain knowledge on making low budget and independent genre films. Our panel will be discussing everything from their motivations and inspirations to their experiences of getting low budget films made without major studio backing.
Whether you have questions on the trials and tribulations on getting funding or simply the best formula for making fake blood, we have put together this event for you to ask all those burning questions you've always been dying to know the answer to as well as the chance to see selected clips from all the films.
If you're considering heading down there this Friday, be aware tickets can be yours half price (£5 instead of the regular £10) - simply quote the code FAN FILM at the box office or Hyde Park Picture House on the day of the event. That's Friday the 13th November from 1pm to 5:30 pm.
