AFM 09: Adam Mason Goes Saul Bass With Amazing New Poster Art For LUSTER

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
Adam Mason's Luster is a film that we've been tracking in these pages for quite some time now, the director of Broken, The Devil's Chair and Blood River taking a step into some new territory here to create a dark, violent comedy.  Shot a while back, Mason has been working over his footage for a good while, massaging and tweaking to get the rhythms and tempo just right before unleashing it on the public and with that time drawing near there has just been a brand new piece of stellar poster art released for the picture.  Very reminiscent of Saul Bass' work - he did the iconic posters of Vertigo and West Side Story, among others - this thing is a bona fide work of art in its own right and I want it on my wall.

Thomas Luster is a troubled businessman who tries to make sense of a life being driven out-of-control by a force closer to home than he first realizes. When he discovers that the man working against him is another side of his own personality he is forced to fight back against his manipulative alter-ego as murder, madness and mayhem combine to take Thomas Luster on the most bizarre and terrifying ride of his life.
Though there's no proper trailer for Luster just yet, we were passed a sales promo for the film back in November that gives a good taste.  It's still a bit rough around the edges here, but you'll get the idea.  Andrew Howard stars.
